Lots of visitors were disappointed due to the closure of London zoo as a result of the outbreak of fire in the zoo. At least 70 firefighters who rushed to the zoo were able to stop the spread of the fire which broke out in a cafe and shop at the zoo. Kudos to the firefighters as the fire resulted in no loss of lives. Plans are under way to normalize things in the zoo and re-open it again. The fire reportedly started in the Animal Adventure section and spread to the adjacent shop.

The London Fire Brigade tweeted at 7:50am saying that: “Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters and officers are tackling a fire in a cafe and shop at London Zoo.” The zoo added that an aardvark, called Misha, had died in the fire and that 4 meerkats were still unaccounted for.
