Authorities have said that at least 41 people have been killed by wildfires in Portugal and Spain. Due to the magnitude of the fire, it is assumed that some of the fires may have been started by arsonists. As at now, almost 100 people have been reportedly injured.

However, weather conditions like the warm air from Hurricane Ophelia definitely played a role in helping the spread of the deadly wildfires. Firefighters are working round the clock trying to extinguish the fire. Both Portugal and Spain have declared official days of mourning.
