According to Afghan Interior Ministry, a bomb blast in Kabul, Afghanistan has led to the death of at least 95 people and wounded almost 200. The driver of the explosive-laden vehicle succeeded in getting through a police checkpoint because he used an ambulance car and told the police he was taking a patient to a nearby hospital.

The suicide bomber detonated his explosives at a second checkpoint which was close to the Jamhuriat hospital, government offices, businesses, two consulates and a school. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Last week, Taliban carried out another attack which killed 22 people in an international hotel in central Kabul. However, four suspects have been reportedly arrested in connection with the attack as investigation continues.
