Under former President Donald Trump’s “zero-tolerance” border strategy, children were separated from their parents at the border.
The parents were deported while their children were inhumanly taken away from them and allowed to remain in the US. Over 500 migrant children were taken away from their parents, causing a lot of psychological sickness to the children as well as their parents.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “We are dedicating our resources throughout the Department of Homeland Security and the federal government, and bringing our full weight to bear, to reunite children who were cruelly separated from their parents,”
The announcement is part of a list of principles released by the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden to guide its family reunification task force as the administration seeks to reunite more than 500 migrant children and parents separated by his predecessor’s border policy.
It has also been gathered that the Biden administration is even ready to pay for transportation and healthcare for families separated by Trump.
