Supporters of Catalonia gaining independence from Spain have travelled 1,200 km to Brussels to ask the European Union for support. Brussels police said they counted over 45 thousand participants in the protest. The protesters could be heard shouting “Jump! Jump! Jump! it’s the spanish who don’t jump”
Those interviewed among the protesters say they were angry with Spain and disappointed with Europe. “We are people of peace, we’ve come to ask politicians to listen to us and to release all of our political prisoners” says one woman in the crowd.
