Germany to compensate those sentenced for being gays

In a dramatic move, German government has passed a legislation which is aimed at clearing and compensating those who were convicted for homosexuality under a Nazi-era law. Since Germany now allows LGBT to marry, Chancellor Angela Merkel and other top German leaders deem it necessary to clear and compensate those who lived with a criminal record under Article 175 of the penal code. 50,000 men were reportedly sentenced but about 5,000 of those men found guilty are still alive.

A similar move was made by the United Kingdom but online Germany, the U.K did not pay compensation for those who were cleared under the so-called British “Turing Law”. The LGBT community now enjoys a lot of privileges in the United States of America. Hence U.S decided to redefine marriage.
