Based on credible information, a raid on Baghdadi’s hide-out was conducted by the US military in close coordination with American intelligence and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces. President Donald Trump has announced the death of the world’s most wanted man, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who is the leader of ISIS. Trump said: “Last night the United States brought the world’s number one terrorist leader to justice. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead.”
Trump also added that al-Baghdadi died after igniting a suicide vest which killed him and three of his children. According to Trump: “He reached the end of the tunnel as our dogs chased him down. He ignited his vest killing himself and three children. His body was mutilated from the blast, the tunnel had caved in on it in addition, but test results gave certain immediate and totally positive identification. It was him.”
While answering a question from a journalist, Trump said that some congressional leaders were notified but not all. “We’ve notified some. Others are being notified now, as I speak. We were going to notify them last night but we decided not to do that because Washington leaks are like I’ve never seen before.” Trump said.
