According to the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, he is spending $50 million on protective measures including the installation of 1,500 metal barriers in key locations around the city. This becomes necessary in an effort to block vehicles from hitting pedestrians after deadly attacks last year on crowds. Hundreds of new protective barriers will be permanently installed in Times Square which is mostly crowded with tourists, sightseeing bus, hawkers as well as office workers.
Officials are reportedly still considering banning vehicle traffic from the mostly crowded area as a long-term solution. More ‘Terrorists Activities’ news can be seen in Terrorists Activities Archive as well as in Terrorists Quick News.
