Michael Flynn (58) who is a former Army general and member of Trump’s campaign team was fired as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser after it was revealed that he lied about his communications with Russia’s ambassadors. Flynn was charged with lying to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about his contacts with Ambassador Sergei Kislyak before Trump took office. He has now pleaded guilty to the charge.
Flynn who once sought immunity for full testimony, became the first member of Trump’s administration to plead guilty to a crime which involves Russia’s alleged attempts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
