Republicans say Trump impeachment probe is happening in secret despite the fact that 47 Republican lawmakers have access to it through their memberships on the House Intelligence. However, as the impeachment inquiry moves into the public phase, House Republicans have demanded Democrats immediately release transcripts from the closed-door interviews with witnesses. They accused Democrats of continuing to conduct the partisan effort to impeach the president in secret.
Republicans have condemned the secret hearing and they even invaded the secure area
in the Capitol basement on Oct. 23, temporarily halting the deposition of a witness for about 5 hours. Democrats argue that the hearings behind closed doors allow witnesses to speak more candidly than they would in a public setting. House Democrats say the release of transcripts may come next week.
