President Trump has been blasted by VoteVets, (a group representing some 500,000 veterans and their families), for taking to twitter to congratulate himself on Memorial Day instead of remembering and congratulating the falling heroes of U.S. Trump wrote: “Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!” Actually, fact is both the jobs numbers and the economy started to improve during the Obama administration.

Trump also got blasted by other Twitter users among whom are Retired Major General Paul Eaton, who was a commander during the Iraq war. He blasted Trump by saying: “Mr. President: My father was MIA in Vietnam for 30 years. I will visit him at Arlington today. There is nothing ‘happy’ about #MemorialDay.”
Vice President Mike Pence did the right thing by twitting that “It is Memorial Day in America..the day when we remember those who served and did not come home. Their duty was to serve. Our duty is to remember. God bless our fallen heroes and their families.” VoteVets group decided to amend Trump’s tweet and re-posted it as can be seen below:
