U.K increases taxes to cover COVID-19 costs

In support of the country’s state-funded National Health Service, the U.K has increased taxes to cover the expenses it incurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The increase in taxes was announced today by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

During the election campaign, Johnson pledged not to raise payroll taxes. However, he seems to have no other way of recovering the loss that was brought upon the country by the pandemic.
