Dr. David Dao, a 69-year-old physician from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, who was removed by police from the United Express flight at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport after refusing to give up his seat on the full plane to make room for four airline employees, reportedly lost two teeth and broke his nose, according to his lawyer.

United Airline said that it deeply regret what happened and it promised that this type of situation will never happen again. “We know we can do better and we will do better. We’ve all seen the shocking and disturbing videos which capture the unacceptable mistreatment of our customer, Dr. Dao.”

“We are deeply sorry that this occurred to Dr Dao and we apologize to him and to the customers who witnessed this appalling scene. This disturbing event does not reflect who we are as a company for the values we hold ourselves to.”
