Warplanes pounded the Syrian town where a chemical attack had killed many people earlier this week, prompting president Donald Trump to order a strike on the military air base in Syria. To this end, Turkey has warned that another retaliatory U.S. missile strike on a Syrian air base would only be “cosmetic” if greater efforts are not made to remove President Bashar Assad from power. However, it is not clear if the planes used belong to Syria or Russia.
