Ivanka Trump, the daughter of U.S president was officially made a white house employee after her plans to serve as an informal adviser with a West Wing office drew criticism. Ivanka is now a full time federal employee and bears the title “Assistant to the President” and just like her father, she will forego her salary. Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, is a senior adviser to Trump.

According to the white house: “We are pleased that Ivanka Trump has chosen to take this step in her unprecedented role as First Daughter and in support of the President. Ivanka’s service as an unpaid employee furthers our commitment to ethics, transparency, and compliance and affords her increased opportunities to lead initiatives driving real policy benefits for the American public that would not have been available to her previously.”
