We all noticed that Drake’s microphone was cut off during his acceptance speech at the Grammys. Normally acceptance speech is used in thanking the organizers, supporters, fans etc, but the rapper who has been absent from the last several ceremonies due to one reason or the other decided to use his acceptance speech in attacking the same Grammys who gave him the opportunity to win the Best Rap Song award.
During his speech, he said . “We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport,” Drake proclaimed. “The point is, you’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown. Look, if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain and snow, spending money to buy tickets to your shows, you don’t need this right here.” – raising up the award he won – “You already won.”
At this stage, the Grammys decided to cut off Drake’s microphone and went to commercials in order to prevent him from doing more harm to the academy. Drake who continued his speech for about 12 seconds before he realized his mic was cut off decided to laugh it off when he stepped off stage and he later stated that he had actually finished with his speech and he was happy.
