Zimbabwe’s vice president in China for medical check-up

Zimbabwe’s vice president, Constantino Chiwenga, 64, a former army general was admitted in a South African hospital last year for a constricted oesophagus. He was later transferred from S.A to India when his condition deteriorated. Somehow, his condition did not get better in India. Therefore, he was airlifted to China for further medical tests. He returned home towards the end of the year after spending four months undergoing treatment in China.

According to presidential spokesman George Charamba, Despite the ongoing coronavirus in China, Chiwenga was flown to China for medical checks because he was feeling a bit indisposed. Charamba said the V.P was feeling a bit indisposed but he was quite cheerful when he left for China.

Meanwhile, this became a funny news because just a week ago, President Mnangagwa ordered a ban on foreign trips by government officials to avoid importing coronavirus.
